Unscripted Innovation

World of Wonder has remained true to its vision since it began in 1991. It’s the rest of the world that’s finally caught up.  

Back in the early ’90s, cofounders Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato sensed that they were witnessing seismic shifts in the cultural landscape.

World of Wonder was ranked #2 on Fast Company's top 10 Most Innovative Film & Television Companies of 2022, and #1 on The Hollywood Reporter's 30 Most Powerful Producers in Unscripted TV.

In 2000, World of Wonder’s Sundance documentary The Eyes of Tammy Faye explored the dark workings of the televangelist industry. Tammy Faye Bakker explained what really happened to her and her husband when they lost control of the first and most successful television ministry of its kind.

The archetypal story of redemption after a fall from grace was developed into a major motion picture in 2021 starring Jessica Chastain as Tammy Faye. The film earned numerous awards, including two Oscars: Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Actress for Jessica Chastain.
